December in Southern California -
It rained for almost three days straight here last week. After we ventured out again we realized that just a few minutes away it had been snowing! I go to a post office about a mile from here and right next to me were cars with 4 - 6 inches of snow on their roofs. Dave took these pictures standing in front of our motorhome.

Rancho California RV Resort - November 2008
Here's the view out back of our motorhome site. A pretty little brook runs right behind the rig!
Looking back at the rig from the brook. Seating for 8 at the patio table, next to the gas grill and the propane fire ring.

Joshua National Park - October 16-19 2008
Dave at the Twenty Nine Palms Entrance to the park.
One of the larger Joshua Trees we saw.
Unusual Rock Formation
Kathy by the Sign at the base of Ryan's Mountain
Going up the Ryan's Mountain Trail. It was pretty steep.
Kathy at the Summit!
A couple views from the top. You can see the road down below.
Dave at the Summit
On the trail on the way down. Pretty rocky - watch those ankles!
Barker Dam sign
Although there were more plants in the area, unfortunately the pool behind the dam was dry.
You can see the old water lines that show how high the water has been in the past.
Dave next to another Joshua Tree
On the 49 Palms Oasis Trail. Can you see the Palm trees in the distance?
Here they are a little closer.
Some Boy Scouts at the 49 Palms Oasis. Water!
The view back down the Canyon from the 49 Palms Oasis.
Keys View of the San Andreas Fault.

Zion National Park - 22 to 27 Sep 2008

View of Watchman mountain from our motorhome.
On our way up the Angels Landing Trail, not yet to Walter's Wiggles.
Dave as we head through Refrigerator Canyon on our way to Scouts Lookout.
Looking back down after going up about 1/3 of Walter's Wiggles.
This is the sign at Scout's Landing - this is also where I stop - Dave went on towards Angel's Landing.
You can just make out the person on the trail. He doesn't look like it is that much fun to me.
Sheer drop! Not for me. Good Luck Dave.
You can't tell from this shot but there is a gap in the chains where you have nothing but the little scrubby trees/bushes to hold onto.
Notice the chains that you are supposed to hold on to?
This shot gives you a better idea of the drop off on each side on the way up to Angel's Landing - 1200 one side and 800 on the other side - both sheer drops!
What a view - and this isn't even from the top!
Heading back down together again!
It was alot easier on the way back down!
I found this shot of Walter's Wiggles on the web. It is better than any of the shots we were able to get of it.
